Camila Esperanza Maldonado Zuniga
I graduated in Nutrition from the University of Valparaíso, Chile, in 2016. During my studies, I questioned traditional knowledge due to the disconnect I felt with the conventional approach. In 2024, I obtained a diploma in Integral Psychology from the Pranakine Institute, which provided me with valuable tools to understand the relationship between the mind and our personal beliefs, as well as their influence on our perception of the present, past, and future.
However, my main teacher has been my own body. Through personal experiments and practices, I have cultivated a deep connection with myself, learning to identify the symptoms my body communicates and making more conscious decisions about my reality. I find inspiration in nature, observing the intuitive way children relate to food, how animals seek what they need, and how plants obtain their nutrients. I’m also interested in how we interact with climate change and how our cultural experiences shape our relationship with food.
I draw from ancestral knowledge about the body and nutrition, valuing cultural diversity and the different perspectives each culture offers. I have trained in Mindful Eating and Female Cyclicity, and I am drawn to books on Chinese medicine, medicinal plants, and spirituality.
I want to share my passion for connecting nutrition with the beliefs we hold, as many eating issues are related to our mental perceptions of food, which makes it difficult to recognize the signals our bodies send us. I am constantly learning to incorporate new ways to support others in their journey of reconnection with themselves.
